This revealed some badly fitted plates smothered with underseal.

Removing the patches revealed the original rusty bodywork beneath.

At this point the idea was to retain the original boot floor and rear valance, so boot floor was repaired.

After cutting away all the grot from these areas there was about 60% solid steel left!

Complete replacement was the only answer. Old panel retained for reference.

All previous repairs removed and a new panel was made from flat sheet and butt welded in place.

Panel fitted and bumper brackets refitted to act as a jig for new rear valance and boot floor.

The offside inner wing recieved a similar repair with a fabricated panel.

All brackets fitted and holes drilled in rear valence, panel held with screws at this point.
