Front end before strip down
The whole area was plastered in underseal/Ziebart which had to cleaned off before work could start.

Accident damage discovered
Passenger side bonnet hinge box was 15mm off centre from previous impact (and was rusty!)

Crossmember ends
Both sides badly rusted and plated.

Front end removed
Decision was made to chop off complete front end to effect lasting repairs, nearside gusset was replaced at this point.

Remains of Bonnet Hinge boxes
A collection of rough patches, accident damage and heavy corrosion - had to go.

Crossmember offered up
Trial fitting of crossmember with self tapping screws.

Crossmember Modification
The replacement crossmember was supplied without any of the mounting holes cut so these were replicated.

Gusset & Crossmember welded on
After much checking and adjustment these parts were seam welded to the chassis as originally done at the factory.

Nearside Gusset
Fully welded and dressed with flap disc.
