Heater unit rebuild & parts remanufacture

The heater unit was removed from the car to allow repairs to be made to the bulkhead. The casing was split to check the matrix which was clogged externally with debris. The casings were stripped and painted satin black and new foam strips cut to secure the matrix which was back flushed and checked for leaks. All of the flaps were fitted with new foams.

The motor was stripped and checked and the commutator was polished.

The whole unit was assembled with non-setting mastic and screws as original.

When it came to refitting the unit to the car it became apparent that the foam gaskets that seal the heater against the bulkhead were not available anymore. We commissioned a firm in the west midlands to remanufacture the seals required which are now available on our website.
