Scruffy master cylinders area
Spilt brake fluid had stripped the paint off and rust had become quite heavy.
Parts removed
All pedals, master cylinders and wiper motor were taken off for restoration.
Braces removed
To remove the rust that had taken hold between the seams the braces were carefully removed from the bulkhead.
All rust and paint gone
All the paint and rust from this area was scrubbed of with sandpaper and a wire brush bit on a drill.
Heater outlet rust
A few small pinholes were found and mig welded up and smoothed off.
Back together
The flanges were cleaned and painted with weld thru primer before being welded back in.
Rust neutralised
The whole area had a coat of rust neutraliser applied before primer coats were applied.
Primer on
Seams were sealed and area masked and primed.
Top coats applied
Usual three coats of Pageant Blue paint were applied from aerosol cans for protection.
